I have used many artists materials over the years - pencil, charcoal, pastels, ink and watercolours to name but a few. However, it wasn't until relatively recently that I started painting in oils. I learned very quickly that oils allowed me more freedom of expression, and the vibrancy of colour was unmatched. I felt the need with all other mediums to first sketch rough outlines etc., and now much prefer the enjoyment and flexibility of painting without guides and limitations. It affords me some escape from my 9 to 5 as an I.T. Trainer!
